It started with one roll of film at a time.
Back in 1990 I picked up a simple 35mm film camera. No autofocus, no second chances, just thirty-six frames and a reason to slow down. Learning to see the world one frame at a time taught me patience, and patience is still the heart of how I work.
What I am really after is the unguarded stuff. The knowing glance between a couple, the burst of laughter nobody planned, a child's hand wrapped around a finger. Those quiet in-between moments tell the truest story, and catching them is still my favorite part of the job.
Since opening my studio in 2011 I have photographed thousands of families, hundreds of weddings, and more senior sessions than I can count, all across Great Bend and Kansas. Fifteen years in, I still love it as much as the day I started.
